PNPCODA, More than 26,000 police officers who earlier refused to be vaccinated against Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) have changed their minds and accepted to be vaccinated, according to a high-ranking police official on Tuesday, Feb. 16.

The Philippine National Police (PNPAdministrative )’s Support for COVID-19 Task Force (ASCOTF) has stepped up its communication campaign to get all of its staff to take advantage of the government’s coronavirus immunization.

The aggressive information effort, according to Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, Deputy Chief for Administration and concurrent PNP-ASCOTF commander, is being carried out through an application that is only available to PNP staff.

Eleazar said videos and fact sheets about the benefits of vaccination from the Department of Health and other scientists are regularly posted on PNP CODA (COVID-19 Data) to educate both uniformed and civilian personnel on how the vaccine works and its benefits amid the ongoing threat of infection from the deadly virus.

“We ascribe some of our employees’ reluctance to get the COVID-19 vaccine to the inundation of information they would read or see, particularly on social media. But, as our health experts always emphasize, the benefits of vaccination much outweigh the risks and claims of danger,” Eleazar stated.

“What we have to do now is persuade or encourage people to be vaccinated. But, to be clear, we are not pressuring them; we are simply attempting to explain everything to them,” he continued.

Eleazar stated that they expect more police officers to receive the COVID-19 vaccines now that the PNP has expanded its vaccination information dissemination to include other platforms such as direct conversations with PNP members.

Important Information

The PNPCODA is experiencing access traffic due to the simultaneous NATIONWIDE VACCINATION and the additional module of the SELF-ASSESSMENT, which has resulted in an influx of access traffic. Given the high priority of SWAB TESTING in CRAME, PRO7, and PRO11, as well as the NATIONWIDE VACCINATION ROLL-OUT, the PNPCODA team is making every effort to accommodate everyone with the system’s limited resources.
