PSG vs Club Brugge: The Champions League match between PSG and Club Brugge is taking place on December 7 today at the Parc des Princes.

Paris Saint-Germain, who are already guaranteed to finish second in Champions League Group A, concludes their group stage schedule on Tuesday night with a visit from Club Brugge.

On matchday five, Les Parisiens were defeated 2-1 by Manchester City, while their Belgian counterparts were penalized five times against RB Leipzig. PSG vs Club Brugge

Despite being under pressure for the majority of the game at the Etihad Stadium, PSG managed to hold off the Citizens and eventually take the lead through Kylian Mbappe, but the Parisians’ joy would not last long.

It only took Raheem Sterling 13 minutes to restore parity for last season’s beaten finalists before Gabriel Jesus’ winner ensured Man City would finish first, forcing PSG to accept a second-place finish and a potentially more difficult knockout tie.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side has also lost their golden touch in Ligue 1 since the beginning of the month, drawing with Nice before salvaging a point against Lens, as Keylor Navas fumbled Seko Fofana’s long-range effort before Georginio Wijnaldum salvaged a draw with a last-gasp header.

PSG has only won one of their last four games in all competitions, and they missed the chance to make it ten wins in a row at the Parc des Princes during Nice’s visit, but Brugge still faces an uphill battle this week.

Indeed, Pochettino’s side is unbeaten in their last 12 competitive games at their capital headquarters, and they have already beaten Manchester City and Leipzig on home soil in the 2021-22 Champions League, but the visitors still have a lot to play for.

Some saw Club Brugge as a European surprise package after an opening draw with PSG and a victory over Leipzig, but Philippe Clement’s side has been unable to maintain that intensity and is now battling for the Europa League consolation prize.

On matchday five, the Belgian giants faced an injury-plagued RB Leipzig but were still taught a lesson by the Bundesliga powerhouses, with Christopher Nkunku and Emil Forsberg both putting two past them, while Andre Silva also got in on the act. PSG vs Club Brugge

Brugge starts the final matchday bottom of Group A, level on four points with Leipzig but with a far worse goal difference, so defeat to PSG will end their hopes of playing in the Europa League regardless of what happens in the other match between Leipzig and Man City. PSG vs Club Brugge

Clement’s men have responded perfectly to that humiliation, however, with three consecutive league and cup victories, most recently defeating RFC Seraing 3-2 in the top flight thanks to Bas Dost’s double and Cisse Sandra’s effort.

Brugge’s three consecutive domestic wins have resulted in a total of 16 goals – nine for them and seven for their opponents – and, as previously stated, PSG had to settle for a 1-1 draw on Belgian soil only three months ago.
