Pubudu Dassanayake has been appointed coach of the Nepali national cricket team for the second time.

According to CAN, the board meeting of Nepal Cricket Association CAN on Saturday approved Pubudu as the coach.

Pubudu was previously Nepal’s coach from 2011 to 2015. Nepal had played the 2014 T20 World Cup under Pubudu’s coaching.

The Nepali cricket team, which has been without a coach since the resignation of Dave Whatmore last September, has got a new head coach after nearly three months.

About 60 people had applied for the post of head coach. CAN shortlist 15 of them and interviewed five in the final round. Along with Pubudu of Canada, India’s Monty Desai was leading the race for the coaching job.

But in the end, CAN re-selected Pubudu as Nepal’s coach. Nepal is playing the global selection of the T20 World Cup in February 2022. Coach Pubudu Dassanayake‘s first job will be a global selection.
