Rasuwa Landslide: Three members of the same family have died and one has gone missing after a landslide buried their house at Kol Danda in the southern Rasuwa district.

His wife and two children died when the house of Shyam Bahadur Ghalan of Koldanda in Naukunda village municipality-5 was buried. The search for another child continues.

“Death bodies of Shyam Bahadur’s wife and two children have been found. Another is wanted,” Devendra Pandey, chief of the District Police Office, Rasuwa, told Media. Kamala Ghalan, 32, Sokita Ghalan, 11, Sukumaya Ghalan, 8, and Ashish Ghalan, 7, were buried in the landslide.

Shyam Bahadur is injured. He was rushed to Trishuli Hospital in Nuwakot for treatment and later referred to Kathmandu Trauma Center, police said.

The incident took place around 3:30 this morning. “When I went to see my neighbor after hearing a loud noise, I saw that the house was buried by the landslide.

Shyam Bahadur was found nearby,” said DSP Pandey, quoting a local. 

After Shyam Bahadur was sent for treatment, an army and police team with the help of locals were deployed to rescue the others.

The incident site is about 50 km south of the district headquarters Dhunche between Thulovorle and Dhuseni villages.
