June 6, Kathmandu. A committee formed to investigate Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Milan KC has pointed out his weakness.
The investigation committee formed under the leadership of SP Dinesh Raj Mainali of District Police Complex, Kathmandu has concluded that KC acted against the police conduct by negligence. The committee has recommended KC to take departmental action for this, Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Sudip Giri told Online Khabar.
Sameer Man Singh Basnyat, a gangster lodged in Sundhara Central Jail, was removed from his post after he was accused of visiting the jail. And, the police had formed a committee to investigate.
“He did not appear to have met Basnyat himself, but he did meet Amrit KC, a criminal,” Giri said.
According to SSP Giri, the meeting concluded that it was unethical to meet the accused in a serious incident like the murder of a construction businessman even though Amrit had met between the crime branch and other prison security officials.
The day Amrit arrived at the prison was a public holiday, usually on the day of the holiday people from outside are not allowed to visit the inmates. However, Giri said that he met Basnyat after DSP KC facilitated him.
“Another thing is that a person like the head of the circle should have been informed when he left his area, but he did not do so,” Giri said.
