Safe rescue of four people trapped in Rapti floods

Police have rescued four people trapped in the floods in the Rapti River due to incessant rains.

Manaram Chaudhary, 48, of Lamahi Municipality-7, Sabitra Yadav, 45, of Rajpur Gaonpalika-2, Radhe Yadav, 26, of the same place and Ganesh Yadav, 26, of Rajpur-3 had been stranded in the Rapti River since Tuesday night.

A team of 25 people including 9 members of the Armed Police Force Bhaluwang and 16 members of the Armed Police Camp Lamahi rescued them on Wednesday morning.

Dang Chief District Officer Dirghanarayan Poudel said that they have been living on the island of Hasnapur by building a temporary barn to raise buffaloes.
