Kidney survivors at the Damauli Hospital’s Kidney Treatment Centre are having difficulties with dialysis due to a lack of blood.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and subsequent prohibitory orders, blood donation programs are not taking place in the district, resulting in a blood shortage. Dialysis patients have been particularly hard hit by the lack of blood.

Dialysis patients are required to arrange their own blood. Blood shortages were discovered at the Kidney Treatment Centre due to the enforcement of prohibitory orders, according to Shailendra Pandit, the center’s in-charge.

“There was once a regular blood donation program. However, the problem has now surfaced due to a lack of blood for treatment,” he said, adding that patients must find blood on their own.
