July 7, Kathmandu. Ruling party lawmakers have begun to sharply criticize the government.

Ruling Nepali Congress MP Sanjay Kumar Gautam, CPN (Maoist Center) MP Dharmashila Chapagain and CPN (Unified Socialist) MP Parvati Kumari Bisunke have not been able to provide food to the people yet. They have sharply criticized the government for not even preparing to provide relief.

Speaking at a special meeting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday, Congress MP Gautam expressed his indignation at the government for not being able to manage the manure even as the 15th of June was approaching. He said that the people were suffering from high prices and called on the government to remain vigilant.

CPN (Maoist Center) MP Dharmashila Chapagain objected saying that she has not received any budget for the coming fiscal year in her constituency.

Mentioning that he had talked with the Finance Minister Janardan Sharma since last January to include the budget in the schemes of public concern, he demanded the government to give an immediate answer to the people as to why the budget has not been allocated there.

Another ruling party, CPN-Unified Socialist MP Parvati Kumari Bisunke, expressed dissatisfaction over the government’s refusal to name the Upper Karnali Hydropower Project. He also put pressure on the government to move ahead with the completion of the hydropower project with Nepali investment.

MP Bisunke also questioned the government about the delay in moving ahead with the project, which could contribute to the national economy by exporting hydropower to Nepal.
