Secondary schools shut down until Jan 29 from today

schools shutdown Covid-19

Because of the increase in coronavirus cases, the Nepalese government has closed all primary and secondary schools until January 29.

According to the suggestion issued by the COVID-19 Crisis Mechanism Coordination Center (CCMCC) on January 9, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology has decided to close 3,500 schools across the country beginning today (Tuesday).

However, no decisions have been made regarding university and other educational institutes’ teaching-learning operations. The Ministry has announced that the examinations will be carried out in accordance with health norms.

It has also recommended schools make provisions to facilitate students’ learning activities throughout the leave period in accordance with the Student Learning Facilitation Guideline, 2077 BS.

The administration made this choice as the number of COVID-19 cases increased recently, according to Sunita Nepal, the CCMCC‘s spokesperson.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Population has asked the Ministry of Health and Population to immunize pupils aged 12 to 17 in their respective local units during the period.
