Artist Shambhuraj Thapa has died due to a Covid-19 infection. 

Artist Shambhuraj Thapa, 55, who had been active in the art for three decades, died at Patan Hospital on Saturday morning. 

Thapa was diagnosed with a corona infection three weeks ago.

He died due to Covid-19 at the hospital after being confirmed.

Thapa has acted in many TV serials and some movies. Thapa, who has acted in TV serials like ‘Aama’ and ‘Madan Bahadur Hari Bahadur’ of Maha Sanchar, had also made a film ‘Afno Birano’ starring Rajesh Hamal and Gauri Malla.

He has been acting in many teleserials that have been airing recently. He had been acting in teleserials like ‘Meri Bassai’, ‘Bhadragol’, ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Halka Ramailo’. After working in ‘Halka Ramailo’, he was popular among the audience as ‘Bakhte’.

Many artists are paying tribute to Thapa’s death. Artist Hari Bansha Acharya said, “He was a good artist and equally sociable.”

Thapa has a wife, a daughter, and a son. 

According to family sources, he will be buried at Aryaghat in Pashupatinath on Saturday.
