Shekhar Koirala, a Nepali Congress leader who ran for party president in the 14th General Convention, has joined the party’s central committee.
The Nepali Congress statute states that the leader who receives the second-highest number of votes after the party president is automatically appointed to the central working committee.
According to the party statute, Dr. Koirala has become a central member of the party.
Deuba received 2733 votes, while Shekhar Koirala received 1855 votes.
According to Article 65 of the NC statute, the leader who receives the second-highest number of votes will be a member of the working committee.
Last week, the Nepali Congress held its 14th General Convention.
Only the votes of the office bearers have been counted so far, while the votes of the Central Committee members are still being counted.
