Prisoners in Jhapa sent relief to flood victims in Sindhupalchok

Inmates of Jhapa Prison on Wednesday sent Rs 50,100 in cash to flood victims of Helambu village in Sindhupalchok district.

The inmates have sent the cash to help the families of the flood victims in Sindhupalchowk on the first day of the rainy season.

“Wherever we are, the situation should be humane,” said Sher Bahadur Thebe, head of internal administration for the inmates at the Jhapa prison.

The amount deposited by the inmates was deposited in the account of the disaster relief fund of the municipality on Wednesday, said Rajendra Gautam, head of the district prison in Jhapa. 

There are 76 women and 1,146 men inmates in the jail.
