Sukilumba Airport Illam to operate flights services soon

Sukilumba Airport: The Ilam Municipality and Tara Air Pvt Ltd have agreed to operate the airport’s air services.

The agreement stipulates that flight service will begin every Sunday beginning February 20.

A contract for 12 flights has been signed by the municipality. The one-way flight fare for the 16-seater aircraft has been set at Rs 8,000. Sukilumba Airport

The municipality of Ilam will pay the round-trip airfare for 11 passengers, according to the agreement.

After paying the one-way fare, the municipality has incentivized round-trip air service.

Mayor Mahesh Basnet stated that passengers would receive round-trip air tickets for only Rs 8,700.

The agreement stipulated that the flight service would be available for at least three months. According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, the airport has made all necessary preparations for flight operations.

The runway, which is 670 meters long and 20 meters wide, has already been blacktopped.

According to CAAN sources, Rs 280 million has been spent so far on airport construction and maintenance.

On June 4, 2018, a test flight was conducted. Passengers traveling to and from Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, and Darjeeling in India will benefit from the airport’s opening.
