T20 World Cup: Pakistan has reached the semi-finals of the ICC Cricket T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a 100 percent victory.
Pakistan added 10 points after beating Scotland by 72 runs in the final and fifth match of Group Two on Sunday night.
Batting first, Pakistan captain Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik’s half-century helped them reach 190 runs. But Scotland lost 6 wickets in the entire over and managed to score only 117 runs.
Scotland’s Richie Berrington added 54, while Georg Munsie added 17, Mitchell added 14, Kyle Quitzer added nine, Matthew Cross added five, Chris Greaves added four and Mark Watt added two. Pakistan’s Shadab Khan took two wickets and Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hassan Ali took one wicket each.
Earlier, batting first, Pakistan scored 189 runs with the help of 66 runs from Captain Babar and 54 runs from Shoaib Malik. For Pakistan, Mohammad Hafeez contributed 31 runs, Mohammad Rizwan 15 runs, Fakhar Zaman 8 runs, and Yasif Ali 5 runs. Chris of Scotland took two wickets, Safian and Hajam Tahir took one wicket each.
Along with Pakistan, New Zealand has also reached the semifinals of this group. New Zealand reached the semifinals with 8 points becoming the group runners-up.
India is out of the group stage with one game left. India has four points after winning two games. Afghanistan also has 4 points in this group. Namibia has two points while Scotland is out without a point.
The final match between India and Namibia is being played today.
The T20 World Cup semi-final match is being played on November 10 and 11. The first match will be between New Zealand and England while Pakistan will play against Australia on the 11th. The final match between the winners of the two games will be played on November 14.
