During the prohibition period imposed to limit the coronavirus pandemic, the Department of Immigration will issue visas to foreigners departing from Nepal, among other services, from the Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport.
Meanwhile, the Immigration Department has suspended all services, except those that are absolutely necessary, as of Thursday. Previously, the department functioned by lowering office hours.
According to the department, work on facilitating the departure of foreigners stranded in Nepal during this period will continue on a daily basis. Regular work will also be done on the deportation of foreigners within the jurisdiction of the Department of Immigration/Prisons and other agencies.
During this time, the department would also continue its routine work on the departure of foreigner passport holders with Nepal-born children.
Foreigners living in Nepal can use services without paying any fees or penalties for one week after the prohibitory ban is lifted.
The department has asked that service seekers contact them for other services such as visa extensions and travel permits, among others.
