The 32nd edition of the Summer Olympics will start in Japan from next Friday. Dates of competition for Nepali athletes in Tokyo Olympics.

 Named Tokyo 2020, athletes from around the world continue to gather in Japan for the Olympics.

The Olympic football and softball games, which will open on July 23, will start on July 21.

This time 5 players from four games are competing from Nepal. Gaurika Singh and Alex Shah from Swimming and Saraswati Chaudhary from Athletics will compete under University Place.

Similarly, Kalpana Pariyar of shooting from the wild card and Sonia Bhatt of judo have been selected for the Olympics. Swimming, shooting, and judo players have arrived in Japan. Athletics will leave for Japan on July 24, the day after the inauguration.

This time, a team of 26 people including 5 players and 4 coaches from Nepal was included in the list to go to Japan. However, Shiva Koirala, vice-chairman of the National Sports Council, said in a statement that he would not go to Japan citing personal reasons.

A 10-member team led by Ramesh Silwal, member secretary of the National Sports Council, has arrived in Japan a few days ago. Similarly, a five-member team led by Nepal Olympic Committee Chairman Jeevan Ram Shrestha left for Tokyo on Monday.

Two swimmers and a coach have been undergoing special training in Takushima, Japan since July 8. 

They will go to the Olympic Village on Tuesday. Athletics players and other officials will leave on July 24. Apart from the players and coaches, 16 other officials will also go to Japan.

Every sport in the Olympics is equally important. Every athlete aims to play in the Olympics once. This time too, four players from Nepal are fulfilling that dream. Gaurika Singh has already competed in the Olympics and the Tokyo Olympics will be her second participation.

This is the first opportunity for Alex, Saraswati, Kalpana, and Sonia. Gaurika became the youngest athlete at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

When are Nepali players competing in which event?

July 24

Two Nepali athletes are competing on July 24, the day after the opening of the Olympics. Sonia Bhatt in judo and Kalpana Pariyar in the shooting will challenge Nepal.

Sonia will compete in the women’s under 48 kg category. Kalpana of such shooting will compete in women’s 10-meter air rifle. Both athletes have been selected to play in the Olympics through wild cards.

Sonia’s goal is to perform well in her competition. A similar fantasy aims to improve her personal score.

July 27

On July 27, Nepali swimmer Alex Shah will compete. 

He will compete in the men’s 100m freestyle. Nepal’s national record holder Alex’s goal is to improve the national record by improving personal timing in Tokyo.

The competition will be held on July 27. If you excel in the hit stage, you will be selected for the semi-finals on July 28. The final of this competition will be held on July 29.

July 28

On July 28, another Nepali swimmer Gaurika Singh will compete. She will compete in the women’s 100-meter freestyle.

Gaurika holds the national record in this event. 

Gaurika’s goal is to improve her personal timing in Tokyo and her national record.

The competition will be held on July 28. If he excels in the hit stage, he will be selected in the semi-final on July 29. The final of this competition will be held on July 30.

July 30

The final competition for Nepal will be held on July 30. 

Athletics player Saraswati Chaudhary will compete in the women’s 100 meters.

Initially, marathon runner Gopichandra Parki was said to be competing from Nepal, but due to the high quota in the marathon, Saraswati Chaudhary has got the opportunity to go to the Olympics in the women’s 100 meters.

The hit stage game will be played on July 30. The semi-finals and finals of this event will be held on July 31.
