Two teenagers have drowned in Birgunj. The deceased have been identified as Ashish Kumar Shah, 17, of Munna and Pritam Shah, 12, of Birgunj Metropolitan City-15.
According to Dinesh Gautam, Inspector at the Ward Police Office, Sreepur.
Both of them drowned while swimming in Murli Pond at Birgunj-12. The family started searching for the two teenagers after they left home on Friday afternoon to play and did not return till 4 pm.
The search was launched after the clothes and slippers they were wearing were found near the Murli pond. They were found in a pond at around 8 pm on Saturday with the help of police and locals. They were rushed to Terai Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Ashish was studying in class 9 and Pritam in class 6 of Sagarmatha Boarding School.
