A ward chairman has been arrested for tying and beating a youth in jajarkot

A video that has gone viral on social media shows the ward chairman beating a young man with a rope.

The ward chairman was arrested after widespread protests against the brutal behavior of the people’s representatives.

Ram Bahadur Nepali, the ward chairman of Junichande village municipality-2 of Jajarkot is the people’s representative who beat the youth.

He was arrested on the charge of torturing a local youth by tying him with a rope.

He had beaten Damai, a local snake, with a rope on July 30.

Jajarkot police said that he was brought to Sadmurka for questioning. Police said that the ward chairman was arrested on the basis of the video of the local being beaten.

Jajarkot Police Inspector Khumananda Pandey informed that a team from Panchala Police Post took him under control from his house on Wednesday evening.

He said, “He was taken to the District Police Office under the supervision of various Area Police Offices due to his distance.”

According to the police, the victim youth has also been called to the district. However, the victim has not yet lodged a complaint against the ward chairman.
