Dilip Kumar, popularly known as the Tragedy King of Bollywood, passed away at the age of 98 on Wednesday morning.

Dilip Kumar made his Bollywood debut in 1944 with the film Jwar Bhata.
His film ‘Jugnu’ was released in 1947, which introduced him as a successful hero in Bollywood.
Since then, he has acted in many superhit films including ‘Shaheed, Andaj, Dag, Didar, Madhumati, Devdas, Musafir, Naya Daur, Aan, Azad’.
He has won the hearts of millions of viewers because of his acting. He has portrayed many issues of India through the film. Dilip Kumar is also seen as an ‘all-rounder hero’ from ‘Tragedy King’.
Entering Bollywood at the age of 22, he became the country’s No. 1 hero at the age of 25.
After the entry of Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand in Bollywood, ‘Dilip-Raj-Dev’ was also given the nickname of Trimurti.
Dilip Kumar was made his debut in Bollywood by the famous film production company Bombay Talkies. He was given a break by Devika Rani.
From this film, he became Dilip Kumar from Yusuf Sarwar Khan. He was paid Rs 1,250 for his first film ‘Jwar Bhata’. Dilip Kumar was married to Saira Bano at the age of 44. He never used his popularity to make money.
Dilip Kumar has acted in 60 films in his career. He was awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan in 1991 by the Government of India.
He was also awarded the ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award’ in 1995.
Similarly, Dilip Kumar was awarded the Nation A Privilege by the Government of Pakistan in 1997.
This is the highest civilian honor bestowed by Pakistan.
